Announcing Tipasa Interlibrary Loan

We are pleased to announce that the Salem College Libraries are migrating to Tipasa, a new Interlibrary Loan service! In addition to increasing staff ability to monitor copyright, expedite processing time, and develop collections in specific subject areas, Tipasa will enhance your Interlibrary Loan experience by allowing you to:

  • Submit ILL requests from within WorldCat Discovery, library databases, and the Tipasa user portal
  • View all submitted ILL requests and check for duplicates
  • Track the status of ILL requests (e.g., shipped, processed, available, returned)
  • Receive immediate email and/or SMS notifications when materials arrive at the Libraries

To ensure that your profiles are integrated and the system is implemented correctly, the ILL operation will be in hibernation until September 1, 2017. This means that any requests received after today will not be processed until September 1.

Because we know how critical it is for you to obtain the information you need, we invite you to complete the Purchase Recommendation form if you need books, articles, and more prior to September 1. We pledge to order available material, contact you when it arrives, and deliver it through email or pickup at Gramley Library Circulation Desk.

For questions about Tipasa, please contact Anna Milholland, Discovery & Delivery Librarian, at anna.milholland@salem.edu.
